Paula & Mark have been together since 2016 but their story goes way further back than that!
They met back in the 90s whilst they were both working as reporters in Birmingham.
Paula was working on the Birmingham evening mail & Mark on the Birmingham Post (a morning paper), and for a few hours of their days, their paths would cross in the newsroom.
They developed a long-lasting friendship that could well have been more, but it was never to be and Mark & Paula both went their separate ways marrying different people and having children with those partners. Children, which I should add, have grown into beautiful, intelligent human beings!
The years passed, the children grew and Paula & Mark eventually separated from their partners. It took them a while to realise it but they were destined to be together and in 2018 on Christmas day after everyone had opened their gifts, Mark presented Paula with her present.
She opened it to find a gorgeous engagement ring!
They originally planned to get married in May 2020 but the pandemic put a stop to that, they then rescheduled for July but again were thwarted by Covid!
3rd time lucky, they managed to finally get booked in AND get married in February 2022, in a really intimate wedding with just their immediate family at The Museum of East Anglian Life in Suffolk. Paula & Marks top tip for your wedding day: ”The only thing that matters is saying your vows and finally getting to marry your soulmate. Don't fuss about the clothes, flowers or cake. It's not going to be perfect and that's OK... because the things you're going to remember and laugh about are the imperfections.”
