Wedding Group Shot Ideas
A wedding group shot list doesn’t need to be huge. Around 15 group photos will usually take about 30 minutes, probably less, depending on your guests. Especially if Uncle Trev has disappeared to the bar or Auntie Mary is in the loo!
The examples below are just ideas. Every family is different, so choose whatever feels right for you. And don’t worry about adding a photo of just the two of you. Your photographer will always take you away for couple portraits separately from the group shots.
ONE OF EVERYONE
YOUR WEDDING PARTY
I also like to suggest here that we do some of the individual wedding parties together, such as the bride/groom with their own wedding crews
YOUR PARENTS
You can either have both sets of parents together, or have the two of you photographed separately with each set of parents. Just choose whichever feels easiest and most comfortable for you.
YOUR PARENTS + SIBLINGS
For parents and siblings, you might want to have two versions: one with just your immediate family, without partners or children, and another including partners and children. This can be a nice way to get both the classic family photo and a more complete one.
ALL YOUR FRIENDS
Sometimes couples prefer to split their friendship groups into smaller groups, such as work friends, university friends, school friends, or different friendship circles.
THE GRANDPARENTS
Grandparents often love a good mantlepiece photo! Depending on your family dynamics, you may want to include both sets of grandparents together, or have a separate photo with each side of the family.
YOUR OWN FAMILY
If you already have children, don’t forget to include a photo of the two of you with all of your children together. It’s one of those family photos you’ll treasure for years to come!
