So with the economy being a shambles and everyone freaking out about money, I thought it might be helpful to share some tips on how you can save some money on your wedding day!
TIP ONE - DIY DECS
You don't have to be the most creative person to be able to make some of your own decorations for your wedding breakfast, including the seating plan. Tanzi & Lucy made this simple wedding seating plan on a board back with hessian. They then had everyone's names printed out, cut those out, and then stuck them onto brown cards. Topped with a bit of something pretty and I think you will all agree that this looks fab and such a great way to save a few pennies. You can also get your partner involved and make it a team effort!
TIP TWO - INVITATIONS
Instead of spending lots of money on invitations, go digital! You can send out your own handmade ecards OR if you are a whizz with tech, you can create a website (for free) on a platform like WiX and share the link with everyone there, you can add a form to the site to collect your RSVP's!
TIP THREE - HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT!
Most couples have this amazing wedding cake that they often end up taking LOTS of home, instead of having a late cake cutting, do a mock one early with your photographer and then ask the venue to cut up your wedding cake and serve it for dessert!
Seems crazy to pay for 2 desserts right?!
TIP FOUR - SPEAK TO YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER (AKA ME LOL) TO FIND OUT IF THEY DO BESPOKE HOURLY PACKAGES RATHER THAN A FULL DAY!
Whilst the majority of wedding photographers show their pricing on their websites and show full-day packages etc a lot of them including me will do half days and reduced hours for of course less money. For example, I can cover the ceremony up until the speeches for less than £1000 and this is a huge saving should you need to make one!
You should always speak to your wedding photographer as we are quite nice people <3
TIP FIVE - CREATE A BUDGET AND STICK TO IT
May sound simple, but quite often wedding couples will lose track of their spending and go way over budget. I will often ask my wedding couples how much they ended up spending and the majority of the time, they don't actually know the final number.
